Poems for Two Voices

Grouping of Students:  Students are to be grouped in pairs, if there is an odd number of students the teacher will step in and have a partner.

Materials:  A poem for each group that can be divided into two parts to be read by two readers.  Each group can have a different poem, or they can all have the same poem.

Directions:

            1.  Divide the class into pairs

            2.  Give each pair a poem that has already been divided into sections for the readers

            3.  Have students practice reading the poem together (student ‘a’ reads one part, and then student ‘b’ reads the other part)

            4.  Have groups read their poems to the class.
